Balfour Beatty has been awarded the £833 million contract to build Net Zero Teesside Power – an Onshore Power, Capture and Compression project, poised to become the world’s first gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage.

Kier has been appointed by Midlothian Council to deliver the new, £41.8 million Mayfield Community Learning Campus, with construction set to begin this summer.

Construction work has officially begun on the new Kingston Leisure Centre – a major £44.5 million investment that will deliver a modern, community-focused facility and act as a catalyst for the town centre regeneration.

Clegg Construction has broken ground on a £13 million luxury care home at Wavendon, Buckinghamshire. The three-storey, 96-bed home is being built for Hampton Healthcare, part of the Rochmills Group.

Galliford Try’s Building North West division has signed a contract to begin the first construction phase of the Wigan Galleries shopping centre redevelopment. It forms part of a £135 million masterplan, delivered in partnership with Cityheart, which will create a retail, leisure, commercial, and residential hub in the town centre.

Queen Mary University of London has signed an agreement with the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to acquire land in Whitechapel to develop a significant life sciences campus. The land purchase and subsequent development will future-proof the site, drive economic growth, and attract inward investment to the local area.
