Bridging the Rugby gap

Posted on by in News

Steelwork contractor Allerton Bridges (part of Allerton Engineering) has completed fabrication work on its longest single span bridge to date.

The 35t footbridge will replace the Victorian Black Path lattice bridge close to Rugby’s railway station. The structure is 42m long, 3.1m wide and 4.8m high, and was built in three sections for easy transportation.

Allerton opened a new fabrication shop at Tursdale, near Durham, last year to cope with increased demand for its steel bridge building expertise.

Stuart Beales, Managing Director of the Allerton Engineering Group, said: “We have doubled our bridge building activity in the last six months.”
