Work starts on Milton Keynes warehousing scheme
Kier has begun demolition work on a site in Milton Keynes in preparation for the construction of a new state-of-the-art 11,672m2 warehouse/industrial facility.
Targeting a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, the scheme is located at Michigan Drive, which is 1.9 miles from Junction 14 of the M1 motorway, three miles from the centre of Milton Keynes.
Kier said the site also provides access to the wider national motorway network, making it extremely well-placed to serve the majority of the UK within 4.5 hours HGV drive time.
The new Grade A building will boast a green roof, high-efficiency LED lighting, four level loading doors, 12m clear-height roof span, 14 dock loading doors, PV cells, and office space.
Kier Property Group Managing Director Leigh Thomas, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce this significant milestone. The location of this scheme is perfect for this type of development, and our plans will see us create a new benchmark in energy-efficient, premium-quality industrial space when complete at the end of 2025.
“This scheme will be built using the highest quality materials and market-leading design. The development is targeting an EPC rating of ‘A+’, meaning it will be net zero carbon in construction.”
