Adey Steel opens training academy and hosts local MP
Steelwork contractor Adey Steel has officially opened the Adey Academy, a facility the company said will equip the next generation of workers with the tools, skills, and confidence they need to thrive within the steel industry.
Dr. Jeevun Sandher, MP for Loughborough, alongside key representatives from Leicester College were hosted by Adey Steel for the opening.
Adey Steel Group Operations Director, Robert Hall, said: “Dr. Sandher’s visit underscored the importance of strong, collaborative partnerships between education providers, local businesses, and government representatives.
“These partnerships play a pivotal role in bridging the skills gap and creating valuable career opportunities for young people, particularly through apprenticeships. The Adey Academy exemplifies how such collaborations can shape the workforce of tomorrow, offering hands-on learning experiences and training directly aligned with the needs of the steel sector.”
The Adey Academy is said to be more than just a training facility as it is an investment in the future of the steel industry and the local economy. By merging high-quality education with practical, industry-specific training, Adey Steel said it is ensuring apprentices and trainees not only gain theoretical knowledge, but also develop the practical, real-world skills that are essential for a successful career.
With the support of Leicester College, this approach prepares them to excel in the highly technical and evolving field of steel manufacturing.
