Caunton Engineering has installed a Peddinghaus Peddibot 1250 at its Moorgreen fabrication facility. Equipped with capabilities for plasma cutting, oxy-fuel cutting and layout marking, Caunton said the machine will enhance operational efficiency.
Worksop Galvanizing, part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, has purchased a new Straddle Loader, which is set to revolutionise plant operations and customer experience. Paul Moran, the company’s Commercial Development Manager, said: “Handling times of steel components will be reduced, and all materials can be stored in their completed form, which eliminates the need for multiple forklift truck operations.”
Glencar will build Big Yellow Self Storage’s new six-storey facility at Staples Corner in north west London. The contractor’s appointment includes the design, construction, and turnkey fit-out of the flagship store. It will include self-storage accommodation together with flexibly designed office spaces, catering for increasing demand from both domestic and business users.
Developer Henry Boot Development has formed a joint venture with Feldberg Capital that aims to build £1bn of high-quality logistics schemes across the UK over the next seven years. To be known as Origin, the JV has three initial schemes in its pipeline – Walsall, Markham Vale and Welwyn Garden City – that will deliver around 41,806m2 of prime industrial and logistics space, targeting BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC A ratings.
Widnes Galvanising, trading as Joseph Ash Widnes, has achieved the ISO 9001 accreditation for Quality Management Systems. The company joined the Joseph Ash Group of companies in October 2022. The accreditation shows the site’s dedication to quality management, ensuring customers receive only the best standard of galvanizing and customer service.
