March issue of New Steel Construction out now

NSC_March_covEThe March issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital, and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

This month’s issue features the Bracknell Lexicon project, which is transforming a vast swathe of the Berkshire new town. Phase two is under way and includes a number of retail structures and a cinema.

A concrete-framed Thames Tower office block in Reading is being given a new lease of life thanks to steel construction. Four new steel floors are being added to the structure, while the existing floorplates have been enlarged.

A blast resistant office block has been erected at the INEOS petrochemical facility in Grangemouth. NSC discovers how the steel design had to be refined in order to satisfy these stringent requirements.

Seven steel-framed schools are being constructed in the Home Counties as part of the Government’s Priority School Building Programme. Steel was chosen as the framing material for its speed of construction and cost-efficiency.

A Victorian swimming baths in Ashton, Manchester has been converted into a business centre by constructing an office pod within its listed facades.
