June issue of New Steel Construction out now
The June issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.
Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC, this is available at: www.newsteelconstruction.com
This month’s cover story is Circle Square in Manchester, a £750M mixed-use development that is reshaping the former BBC North West site. As well as two commercial blocks, the scheme also includes a 10-level multi-storey car park that will support a six-storey hotel.
NSC also features another Greater Manchester project, 100 Embankment. This is the second to two commercial towers that sit on the podium once occupied by Exchange Station, which closed down in 1969.
The Crossrail scheme in London is creating a number of over-station development opportunities and one of the most prestigious is above the Bond Street station eastern ticket hall. On this site, a 1.3-acre mixed-use scheme will provide 20,400m² of office spaces, retail, a restaurant and residential accommodation.
Steel construction has come to the fore at 1 Triton Square in London as this 1990s concrete-framed building gets redeveloped with additional steel-framed floor space.
The Metalworks residential scheme in Slough has chosen a steel-framed solution for its two seven-storey blocks that contain 155 apartments.
NSC also features industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
