Best Practice in Steel Construction (Commercial, Residential and Industrial Buildings)

Guidance for Architects, Designers & Consultants

The three publications in this series are aimed at architects and other members of the design team to assist in decision-making in the early stages of planning steel framed buildings. They cover general issues in steel design and construction relevant to the three building sectors (commercial, residential and industrial) and include a number of recent case studies from around Europe.

In addition to the general issues, the relevant information for each building sector is included:

Commercial: Special floor systems and beam connections

Residential: Wall systems, primary steel frames, modular systems, façades and roof systems and national practice.

Industrial: Support structures, roof and wall systems, and national practice.
