Steel frame creates retail training centre

Posted on by in Weekly News

Forming part of the vast Unity regeneration project in South Yorkshire, the steel frame for the TJ Morris (Home Bargains) training centre is taking shape.

Working on behalf of main contractor Stainforth Construction, Nationwide Structures is fabricating, supplying and erecting 215t of steelwork for the scheme.

ARC Construction Management is the site engineer, responsible for ensuring the frame is plumb, lined and levelled in accordance with NSSS tolerances.

The centre measures 53m-long x 56.6m-wide and reaches a maximum height of 9.5m. The majority of the building consists of a clear-span portal frame, with a first-floor office area positioned at one end.

Located close to Doncaster and within easy reach of the M18/M180 motorway corridor, Unity is said to be one of the largest regeneration and infrastructure projects in the UK.
