Buxton set for £100 million town centre boost

Posted on by in Weekly News

Developer Capital&Centric has revealed its final plans for the £100 million transformation of The Springs shopping centre in Buxton, Derbyshire.

Working with High Peak Borough Council, the plans include a residential-led neighbourhood with 332 design-led homes for rent, independent bars, shops, and cafés, as well as a more accessible route from the railway station.

John Moffat, Joint Managing Director at Capital&Centric, said: “The final vision complements what already makes the town great and is all the better for being shaped by those who know and love it the most.

“We’ve made the plans even greener, expanded the housing offer, and put options for indie businesses right at the heart of the community.”

Councillor Damien Greenhalgh, Deputy Leader and Executive Councillor for Regeneration, Tourism and Leisure, at High Peak Borough Council, said: “This is a landmark moment for Buxton. After seven years of hard work, the Council is pleased to reach a major milestone with the submission of plans for the revitalisation of our town centre.”
