BCSA members star at Tekla Awards

Posted on by in News

British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) members have won three of this year’s UK Tekla Awards, the competition that showcases industry leading BIM construction projects modelling using Tekla software.

The Public Vote award went to Battersea Power Station, the multi-million-pound regeneration of south London’s iconic landmark.

William Hare fabricated, supplied and erected 24,000t of steelwork to help transform the building into a vibrant and modern destination containing commercial space, apartments, entertainment venues and retail outlets.

The Sports & Recreation projects winner was Olympia West Hall, a job that required BHC to fabricate, supply and erect 2,894t of hot rolled steel. The project consists of a two-storey music venue that lies in the heart of the wider Olympia redevelopment in west London.

Metal decking specialist MSW picked up the Industrial Project award for its work on Plot 5 at the East Midlands Gateway.

The judges said, through the use of Tekla software, they delivered truly optimised drawing updates with minimised queries, which clearly saved them valuable time.
