Work starts on major Luton logistics scheme

Posted on by in Weekly News

Contractor Glencar has started work at Hillwood Park Luton, a major new 26,437m2 speculative multi-unit industrial and logistics development within the established Sundon Park Industrial Estate.

The project is said to have been designed to meet the rising demand for modern manufacturing, distribution and e-commerce occupiers and will deliver much-needed logistics space close to the M1 motorway near Luton.

Once complete, Hillwood Park Luton will feature eight high-specification, Grade A warehouse units ranging in size from 1,323m2 to 7,429m2.

Hillwood UK Vice President, Greg Dalton, said: “Breaking ground at Hillwood Park Luton is an exciting milestone for the scheme as well as our expanding UK pipeline. Glencar continue to prove to be a reliable, hands-on delivery partner for us, and this third appointment is a testament to the trust we’ve built.

“There is a clear, sustained demand for highly sustainable Grade A logistics space nationally and this strategic Luton corridor is well-placed to satisfy this demand. We look forward to seeing the site progress.”

Peter Goodman, Managing Director Midlands and North at Glencar, added: “We are delighted to officially mobilise on site and celebrate this start of work milestone with Hillwood. Our early engagement has allowed our technical teams to optimise buildability, ensure programme certainty, and embed sustainable practices from day one.

“This project is a fantastic addition to our industrial portfolio, and we are committed to delivering it safely, efficiently, and to the exacting standards that modern occupiers expect.”
