Warehouse planned for former Weetabix factory site

Construction of a new logistics warehouse on the site of the former Weetabix factory on the Earlstrees Industrial Estate in Corby has been given the go-ahead by the local authority.

Copley Point Capital, on behalf of Pembury Real Estate, submitted a planning application to North Northamptonshire Council earlier this year having purchased the eight-acre site on one of the town’s busiest industrial parks.

Demolition of the former Weetabix factory is nearing completion and the construction of a new 14,900m2 warehouse will start soon, with completion set for mid-2023.

The building, which is aiming to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating, will be 12.5m-high and will have 16-docks, together with a 50m access yard.

Copley Point Capital Director Nimit Oberoi said: “We are pleased to have obtained planning permission for Earlstree 160 just seven months after our acquisition. This is testament to the hard work of our team and the positive and pragmatic attitude of the Council.

“The development is in an excellent location and it will help satisfy the demand for Grade A logistics and industrial space in Corby.”
