SSDA October issue of New Steel Construction out now

The latest issue of New Steel Construction (NSC), featuring the 52nd annual Structural Steel Design Awards (SSDA) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC, this is available at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

For the first time in its history, there was no gala awards ceremony for this year’s SSDA and all winners were notified by email due to COVID-19 restrictions.

There were six Award-winning projects: Tintagel Footbridge, Cornwall; 52 Lime Street, London; The Curragh Racecourse Redevelopment, Kildare; Bath Schools of Art and Design; A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon Improvement Scheme, and Brunel Building, London.

Six projects received Commendations: One Bartholomew, Barts Square, London; Centre Building, London School of Economics; Mary Elmes Bridge, Cork City; The Post Building, London; The Standard Hotel, London; and Waterloo Station Roof Infill.

Merits were awarded to: The Gravity Bar, Guinness Storehouse, Dublin and Scarborough Footbridge, York.

NSC also features an article from SSDA sponsor, Trimble Solutions (UK) Ltd, industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
