New SCCS Certification Board members sought

SCCS150205The British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) is seeking new Certification Board members for its Steel Construction Certification Scheme (SCCS), a rapidly growing certification body specialising in the structural steelwork sector.

Potential Certification Board members are likely to be experienced and knowledgeable construction professionals, such as construction clients, structural engineers, architects or steelwork contractors.

Committee members should also be interested in corporate governance, quality assurance and certification.

SCCS meetings are held twice a year in London and last approximately half a day.

SCCS is a wholly owned subsidiary of the BCSA and was established in the early 1980s to provide a Quality Management System certification service for steelwork contractors.

It has subsequently developed additional certification and monitoring services for the steelwork industry, including Environmental and Health & Safety and Factory Production Control (CE Marking) systems.

The Directors are committed to the principles of impartiality in carrying out certification activities.

Anyone interested in becoming an SCCS Certification Board member should contact Director General of the BCSA Sarah McCann-Bartlett at: sarah.mccannbartlett@steelconstruction.org
