Leeds Bradford Airport to expand with new terminal

Posted on by in News

Plans for a new terminal building at Leeds Bradford Airport have been approved by Leeds City Council.

The new terminal will replace an outdated building and forms part of a wider expansion plan that includes increasing the number of daytime flights from the airport.

The new terminal will be a three-storey, 34,000m2 structure. The Airport claims the completed project will support more than 12,000 permanent jobs across the Leeds region.

A council spokesperson said: “The council recognises that the Leeds Bradford Airport planning application has been the subject of much public debate and, from the moment it was first submitted, full and proper attention has been paid to the evidence and arguments put forward by supporters and opponents alike. It should also be noted that the application was assessed on its own individual merits as part of the council’s normal planning process.
