June issue of New Steel Construction out now

This month’s cover story features the two intricately engineered cauldrons used to accommodate the Olympic and Paralympic flames at the Milano Cortina Winter and Paralympic Games.

Having changed its design to a steel-framed option, the Peterborough Community Diagnostic Centre has benefitted from a quick and efficient construction programme.

One of the most advanced electric bus depots outside of the M25 has been created at Hengrove, Bristol. The scheme included five 70m-long steel gantries that support the electric power distribution.

Two more portal-framed warehouses are being added to the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal. Originally developed in the 1990s, the site is one of Prologis UK’s flagship logistics parks.

Once the site of Western Europe’s largest hot strip steel mill, Ravenscraig is being transformed into a new community with thousands of homes, retail units and leisure facilities. The latest scheme is creating much-needed industrial space within steel-framed warehouse units.
