Contractor named for Crawley innovation centre

Posted on by in Weekly News

Morgan Sindall Construction’s Southern Home Counties business has been appointed by Crawley Borough Council (CBC) to deliver a state-of-the-art innovation centre in the town.

Procured through the SCAPE framework, the project will involve the redevelopment of the former TUI Travel House in the town’s Manor Royal Business District.

The completed project will consist of a 232m2 centre with five workshop rooms, two offices, flexible working space and a café. It will form a key part of the town’s 2022-2037 recovery plan and will benefit from £8.4M in funding from the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership (CCLEP).

Councillor Michael Jones, Leader of CBC, said: “It was great to see work start and help – albeit minimally – with the conversion of the building into a state-of-the-art facility.

“I can’t wait to see the progress over the coming months.”

Tony Middleton, Chief Executive at CCLEP, said: “We are delighted to support such a significant project that will deliver growth of innovation-led businesses in Crawley.”
