Work to start imminently at London’s Stag Brewery site
Reselton Properties, a subsidiary of Singapore Stock Exchange quoted City Developments Limited, has lodged plans for a £1.25bn mixed-use development on the 22-acre Stag Brewery site in Mortlake, south west London.
The site had been home to a brewery since the 15th Century until 2015 when Budweiser ceased operations there.
The project, which is due to start soon, has been designed by architects Squire & Partners and opens up the enclosed site with a regeneration of the brewery that will include:
- A mix of uses creating a traditional commercial high street feel with 20 units for shops, bars, restaurants, a gym, together with a hotel, cinema and rowing club.
- Nine acres of green space with squares, all with public access, providing the focus for the residential accommodation.
- A new secondary school for 1,200 pupils together with a full-sized football pitch (also available for community use), as well as indoor multi-use gym, play and sports space.
- 3,000m² of offices providing space for existing and new local small businesses.
- 667 homes to be built across the site.
Michael Squire of Squire & Partners, said: “Over the last 18 months, we have worked closely with the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames planning department and local residents’ community groups to create a scheme that will be a truly valuable addition to the local community and gives full public access to a beautiful and important section of the River Thames.”
