Steel frames forming Crawley logistics park
Two speculative steel-framed warehouse units are being constructed at Panattoni Park Crawley in West Sussex.
Located close to Gatwick Airport and Junction 10 of the M23, the area is already home to a number of well-known companies, including Amazon, DPD, UPS and Ocado.
According to Panattoni, the site (which is an established location for distribution centres) offers potential clients good transportation links and a readily available workforce.
Aiming to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ ratings, both warehouse units have internal offices offering 40,846m2 and 20,000m2 of floor space.
Structural steelwork for the project is being fabricated, supplied and installed by Severfield.
Panattoni Development Director David McGougan, said: “This development is in line with our strategy to speculatively develop in undersupplied markets, and Crawley provides occupiers with an excellent base to service London and south east markets.
“The outlook for the mid-box market is positive, with good levels of occupier interest, driven by their flight to quality and the desire to move out of older redundant stock and into modern and efficient space”.
