Steel-framed facility for galvanizers
Acrow Galvanizing (part of the Wedge Group) has begun constructing a new state-of-the-art £6M steel-framed facility in Haverhill, Essex.
The company, which has been based in nearby Saffron Walden since the mid 1970s and employs 41 people, says the relocation is part of Wedge Group Galvanizing’s commitment to enhancing its services.
The plant will be constructed with the latest industry-leading technologies including integrated rainwater collection and storage systems. With the new facility scheduled to open early in 2016, the company will continue to operate as usual from its existing facility, ensuring there is no disruption to customers.
Approximately 220t of galvanized structural steelwork will be supplied and erected for the project by TSI Structures.
Regional Director of Wedge Group Galvanizing Steve Milnes, explained: “We’re pleased to be starting construction on the new facility, which will not only enable us to further streamline our processes and improve the efficiency of our production line, but ultimately enable us to enhance the high level of service we already offer our customers.
“Haverhill is just a couple of miles down the road from our current site, and will see us best placed to continue growing over the coming decades, as well as maintain our support across a diverse range of industries.“
