Steelwork contractor signs up for university

MOU150416Severfield, one of the UK’s leading structural steelwork contractors has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Nottingham Trent University providing a platform for learning and development of company employees and university students.

The MOU also offers the opportunity for both parties to work collaboratively on research and development projects and will give university students the chance of work placements and long-term careers with Severfield.

Severfield Chief Executive Officer Ian Lawson said: “We are delighted to have this new understanding with Nottingham Trent University. Several members of our senior management team are Alumni and working with the University will undoubtedly be mutually beneficial.”

Peter Westland (pictured with Gary Wintersgill, Managing Director at Severfield) the Dean of the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment said: “Our close collaboration with Severfield will lead to mutually beneficial opportunities to support our students and future professionals in the construction industry and lead to innovation through joint research projects – this is an exciting development.”
