Speller Metcalfe limbers up for Atherstone Leisure Centre job

North Warwickshire Borough Council has appointed Speller Metcalfe as principal contractor to deliver a new leisure centre in Atherstone.

The replacement centre, to be built on the site of the current facility, will include an energy-efficient design and state-of-the-art sports facilities.

Councillor Margaret Bell, Chair of the Community and Executive Board at North Warwickshire Borough Council, said: “This is a milestone for Atherstone and it is fantastic to see the next phase about to start.”

Leader of the Council, Councillor David Wright, added: “The new facility will play an important role in the future of the town.

“We are proud to be delivering a new leisure centre in the borough that will serve as a vibrant destination for residents and visitors.

“Designed to complement the historic heart of the town, the new centre will bring wide-ranging benefits to the local economy and the community.”
