September issue of New Steel Construction out now

nscsept2016-covfpThe September issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital, and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like to subscribe should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC can find it at www.newsteelconstruction.com

The current issue’s cover feature is One Angel Court, a City of London commercial scheme that has quickly risen up around a retained core from the previous building that stood on the plot.

Steel for Life is once again highlighted in the magazine with a Headline Sponsor piece on ArcelorMittal, who report an increasing demand for high strength steels, while two Sector Focus articles concentrate on steel bending and light gauge steel framing.

The Tate Modern’s multi-storey extension, known as the Switch House has been officially opened to the public. Approximately 1,000t of structural steelwork was used to form the long span column-free exhibition spaces.

Forming the centrepiece of a new distribution park in Leicestershire, steelwork has played an integral role in the construction of a huge warehouse for online retailer Amazon.

Two steel-framed structures are spearheading the redevelopment of London’s New Covent Garden Market, while on the other side of the capital, a steelwork contractor’s expertise has been relied upon to re-erect three cast iron Victorian gasholders in Kings Cross.

NSC also features, as usual, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, industry news, and codes and standards updates.
