Scunthorpe market redevelopment gets green light

Galliford Try’s Building North East and Yorkshire business has been awarded the £13.9M contract by North Lincolnshire Council to redevelop the former Scunthorpe market site.

The works will consist of two phases, with the first involving the construction of an accommodation building for NHS staff. The second phase will see a new office space added to the site.

The project will ultimately create a three-storey L-shaped building, with both the accommodation and office zones brought together in two distinct wings. The office space is intended for commercial and public use, with flexible works areas and a cafeteria.

Galliford Try Building North East and Yorkshire Managing Director Cliff Wheatley, said: “We are excited to work on this exciting project to provide new residential and commercial space to the local community and NHS workers.

“We look forward to working with North Lincolnshire Council and producing high-quality facilities that will regenerate the site.”
