nsc161124The November/December issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Manchester takes centre stage in this issue of NSC, with two prestigious steel-framed commercial developments featured, including a cover story on No.1 Spinningfields.

Forming the final element of Manchester’s new business district, No.1 Spinningfields will deliver 32,000m² of high quality office space and at 20-storeys high it is the tallest commercial building to be built in the city in the last 50 years.

Our other Manchester scheme is 8 First Street, one of a number of developments planned for the remediated former Gaythorn Gas Works site located alongside one of the main routes into the city centre from the south.

Steel for Life is once again highlighted in the magazine with a Headline Sponsor piece on stockholder Barrett Steel, while two Sector Focus articles highlight steelmaking and steel fabrication machinery.

Set within a Site of Special Scientific Interest, the Rushden Lakes project in Northamptonshire will create a new retail and leisure destination around a series of man-made lakes.

Structural steelwork has provided the most efficient solution for three student accommodation blocks being built on a city centre site in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

A total of 96 shipping containers, spanned by a steel-framed roof structure, have been converted into a new trendy eating and drinking venue known as Boxpark Croydon.

NSC also features, as usual, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, industry news, and codes and standards updates.
