The London Borough of Tower Hamlets has appointed Guildmore Group to lead the £68 million regeneration of St George’s Leisure Centre in Shadwell, East London. The existing leisure centre will be demolished and replaced with a modern four-storey facility, which will include a 25m swimming pool, learner pool, splash pad, sports hall and fitness studios.
Part of the first tranche of the government’s new hospitals programme, Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been given the green light to build a new hospital in Crewe. The approved plans also include a new cancer care centre, and a multi-storey car park with space for 1,000 vehicles.
The South Molton scheme, which is redeveloping a large area of London’s Mayfair district, has celebrated the topping out of its two office blocks. Requiring 2,300t of structural steelwork from Severfield, the two eight-storey office blocks at 60 Brook Street and 56 Davies Street, comprising 6,596m2 and 7,246m2 respectively.
Working on behalf of Marrico and Helios Real Estate, main contractor Caddick Construction has officially broken ground for the 16-storey room2 hotel development at Lisbon Street in Leeds city centre.
The £85 million expansion of AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium has been approved, with a phased construction programme due to start this summer. The Premier League’s smallest ground, with a capacity of 11,300, will be expanded to accommodate around 20,000 spectators.
