Milestone reached on Pendle Police Station project
Structural steelwork has been completed for the new Pendle Police Station in Lancashire.
The three-storey facility on Carr Road in Nelson will replace older police stations in Colne and Nelson with the intention to futureproof constabulary infrastructure in the area and provide officers with a modern environment to keep the community safe.
The Pendle Police Station will host policing teams including response and neighbourhood teams and investigations. There will also be a front counter, maintaining the service for Pendle as part of Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner’s commitment that every borough will have a police station open to the public.
Lancashire Constabulary Police and Crime Commissioner, Clive Grunshaw, said: “I’m pleased to see the new Pendle Police Station starting to take shape, with policing in the area set to benefit from what is a significant investment into policing infrastructure in the east of the county.
“I’m looking forward to seeing further progress being made in the coming months and being able to open this modern, fit for purpose police station that will help deliver on my commitment to tackle crime and keep people safe.”
Lancashire Constabulary Chief Constable, Sacha Hatchett, said: “I am delighted that our new police station is on track to be finished during the spring of 2026. This build will provide officers and staff with the facilities they need to do their jobs effectively, whilst ensuring the policing estate is fit for purpose.
“The modern site is part of much-needed wider investment in policing infrastructure in Lancashire.”
Working on behalf of Willmott Dixon, Leach Structural Steelwork has fabricated, supplied, and erected 300t of steelwork for the project.
