ISG secures two leisure centre projects
Highlighting its strength in the sport and leisure sector, ISG has been appointed as main contractor for two leisure centres in Derbyshire and Durham.
A new £24M leisure facility will replace the original Sharley Park Leisure Centre in Clay Cross (pictured), providing state-of-the-art amenities to transform community leisure participation.
The centre will include a 100-station gym, cycling studio, wellness studio to encourage active aging, four-court sports hall, a cafe as well as a 25m swimming pool with six lanes, plus a learner pool with spectator seating.
The facility will also feature a Citizens Advice centre and an NHS suite of services including maternity and children’s services.
In Durham, the Louisa Centre is set for an extensive overhaul and upgrade. This project will involve the transformation of the sports hall to create space for climbing walls, cyber towers, and spectator seating. Additionally, a new café and food & beverage outlets will be integrated into the double-height practice hall, featuring two party rooms and a new soft play structure.
On the third floor, a comprehensive remodelling exercise will deliver a number of new studio spaces, including multi-use, cycling, high-impact, and wellness studios. The area will also feature breakout spaces and a new kitchen to cater for the nearby nursery facility.
