Icon Industrial reveals Manchester Airport development

Posted on by in Weekly News

Proposals submitted by Icon Industrial for two new industrial/warehouse developments at a £100M Manchester Airport site have been given the go-ahead.

Manchester City Council has approved plans for two warehouses of 9,500m² and 12,800m² at Icon Manchester Airport, a growing global logistics area.

Icon Industrial – a joint venture between Stoford and TPG Real Estate – said that the latest developments will meet rising occupational demand at the 45-acre build-to-suit logistics park, which has outline planning consent for circa 92,000m².

Approval for units 3 and 4 of the scheme comes just weeks after planners rubber stamped Icon Industrial’s proposals for an 11.6-acre logistics and global content creation studio at Manchester Airport on behalf of online beauty and wellbeing retailer, The Hut Group.

Dan Gallagher, Joint Managing Director of Stoford Developments, said: “We’re pleased to announce planning approval for units 3 and 4 of Icon Manchester Airport. These developments offer an excellent opportunity to relocate to a key strategic location in the North West, with unrivalled airport connectivity and a strong list of current occupiers.

“Icon Manchester Airport is a unique and exciting scheme that will continue the fulfilment of the Airport City master plan, expanding and enhancing the logistical facilities on site. We are already seeing significant interest in the development.”

Unit 3 of Icon Manchester Airport will be highly specified, incorporating Grade A office accommodation over three floors. The proposed development will include a 15m clear internal eaves height, 132 car parking spaces and level access loading provision onto an 85m deep yard.

Unit 4 will include a single industrial/warehouse building with office accommodation and 141 car parking spaces.
