Green light for Anglo European School redevelopment 

Main contractor Kier has been appointed by the Department for Education (DfE) to deliver the redevelopment of Anglo European School in Ingatestone, Essex. 

The project will consist of the redevelopment of existing school buildings, as well as the construction of a new three-storey steel-framed building, canopy structure, car park, amphitheatre, multi-use games area, and soft and hard landscaping.

The new building has been designed to reflect Anglo European School’s distinctive international ethos and specialisms, while supporting the school’s vision to provide a high-quality learning environment aligned with its net zero carbon in operation ambitions. 

The secondary school serves approximately 1,500 pupils aged 11 to 18, drawing students from a wide catchment area thanks to its distinctive, internationally focused curriculum. 

A pioneering institution, it was the first state school to adopt the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and the IBCP and is a leading school for language tuition.
