Posted on by in Weekly News

The first phase of the St James Quarter in Edinburgh has opened its doors to the public after five years of construction.

Consisting of approximately 79,000m2 of shopping premises, the first phase of the development includes a number of well-known retailers located over four mall levels.

Further phased openings are planned for later this year and in 2022. These will include the hospitality and residential elements of the £1 billion scheme.

Working on behalf of main contractor Laing O’Rourke, BHC has fabricated, supplied and erected  approximately 15,000t of structural steelwork for the project.

Martin Perry, Project Director, Edinburgh St James, said: “Edinburgh St James is a major new landmark for the city, opening up the East End of Edinburgh and creating a truly inspiring place for people to live, shop and play.”
