Dundee plans new 15,000-capacity stadium

Scottish Championship side Dundee has unveiled plans for a new 15,000-capacity stadium to replace its current home at Dens Park.

As well as a new football stadium, the project at Camperdown Park will include a conference venue capable of accommodating 850 guests, a 120-bed hotel, and leisure and retail facilities.

The club’s Managing Director John Nelms said: “It’s time for us take it to the next step and take it to fruition.

“We have engaged the project consultants, they will now engage with City Council. I’ll be engaging with the leaders of the community. It’s time to get this project off the ground and get something for Dundee that can be a jewel and bring excitement and energy to the city.”

The project could also be the catalyst for further development around the stadium including 140 houses, 70 apartments and an extension to the existing ice rink.
