Posted on by in Weekly News

Sisk has been appointed as construction manager for a major new pharmaceutical facility in Tralee, County Kerry in the Republic of Ireland.

The €330m facility for Astellas will be constructed on a greenfield site at the Kerry Technology Park. The project will create 600 construction jobs over the course of the build programme.

It is hoped that the first phase of the scheme will be operational by the third quarter of 2027.

It is expected that around 100 science, engineering, and technology roles will be created within the facility.

Sisk COO for Data, Life Sciences and Tech, Donal McCarthy, said: “We are delighted to be appointed as construction manager for Astellas in Co. Kerry.

“We look forward to beginning construction works on site and working with key local stakeholders and supply chain partners to deliver a sustainable building, and leaving a lasting legacy in Tralee and the wider community.”

Louis Collins, Executive Director, Kerry Operations at Astellas, said: “We are pleased to announce that we have awarded the contract for our new facility.

“This marks an important milestone in our commitment to expanding our production capacity and capabilities. We’re looking forward to working with Sisk to bring this project to life and contribute to our global mission of ensuring a stable supply of high-quality medicines to patients worldwide.”
