Contract awarded for Outstanding Bolton warehouse

Main contractor Glencar has been appointed by Logicor to construct a 30,658m2 highly sustainable warehouse at Little Hulton, in Bolton.

The project will see the redevelopment of a 20-acre site with demolition of the existing warehouses and removal and recycling of existing hard standings.

Early works will also include grouting the of old mine shafts and ground improvement across site, before constructing a brand new state-of-the-art, highly sustainable warehouse.

The new facility will target BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and an EPC A rating. It will feature 28,900m2 of warehouse space and office space over three storeys. It will also feature an 18m-high eaves height, as well as 32 docks and three level access doors.

Other sustainability features include LED lighting, EV charging points and rainwater harvesting.

The project is due to complete by the end of 2025.
