British Steel scoops three digital awards

British Steel won three times at the prestigious digital awards ceremony in London hosted by comedian Russell Kane.

The Digital Impact Awards set the industry-wide benchmark in digital stakeholder engagement and celebrate work in corporate communications, and are recognized as a platform to showcase excellence in digital communications.

British Steel’s website and intranet had been shortlisted for three categories and won awards for all of them, including the top award – gold – for best use of digital from the industrial and basic materials sector.

Liz Brown, Communications Specialist – Brand and Digital Media for British Steel, said: “We’re really delighted with these great results. Building a new intranet and website with a fresh brand was an exciting challenge and a lot of hard work went into developing these new digital channels, so this is great recognition of everyone’s efforts.”

Around 500 people attended the awards, representing companies including Barclays, Gatwick Airport and adidas Football.

Andrew Thomas, publishing editor of Communicator magazine and founder of the awards, said: “This year’s awards signified the leaps and bounds that digital communications are continuing to make across the professional plateau. The sheer quality and character of the evening’s winners exemplifies not only the homogeneity of today’s digital communications, but equally its importance.”
