NSCcov170413The latest issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC, this is available at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

April’s cover story is the Coal Drops Yard retail scheme in London’s King’s Cross. This former coal depot is being restored and converted into a fashionable shopping destination, with the addition of a bespoke steel-framed roof structure.

Another London project report is from 160 Old Street, where a 1970s-built office building is being converted into a modern commercial scheme with addition of new steel floors.

In Cumbria, a steel-framed training complex, including live fire shooting ranges, is being constructed for the Civil Nuclear Constabulary.

The Surrey town of Redhill has ambitious redevelopment plans. The initial phase of this programme is the Warwick Quadrant project, which includes a new Sainsbury’s store, a car park and a Travelodge hotel.

Covering a distance of 58km the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route/Balmedie to Tipperty (AWPR/B-T) is the longest road building project currently under way in the UK. A total of eight steel composite bridges are being constructed for this important scheme.

Steel for Life is again highlighted in this month’s magazine with a Sector Focus article on steel stockholders, while our Headline Sponsor feature article is about Jamestown.

As usual NSC has a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, industry news, and codes and standards updates.
