Altrincham poised for much-needed logistics space

Posted on by in Weekly News

Caddick Construction has begun work on two high specification industrial units in Altrincham, Manchester on behalf of Quorum Developments.

Meeting the increased demand for logistics space in the area, the £7M Ocean Street development involves the demolition of an existing two-storey office and removal of external hardstanding. Caddick will then commence construction of two steel-framed industrial units offering 3,437m2 and 2,322m2 respectively.

Designed and constructed to a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating and aiming to achieve an EPC rating of ‘A’, Caddick said it is dedicated to hitting its sustainability targets and delivering developments that continue to work towards the Government’s net zero aspirations.

Both buildings will have a two-storey office and mezzanine deck. External facilities are set to include 80 car parking spaces, with seven EV charging ports, five level access doors, landscaping, drainage and a new site entrance onto George Richards Way.

Ian Threadgold, Managing Director of Caddick Construction in the North West, commented: “We’re very pleased to have been appointed by Quorum Developments, a long-standing partner of ours. It’s testament to our delivery of previous contracts for this client that we’ve been selected once again to undertake their next build.

“Conveniently located in close proximity to Junction 8 of the M56 and Junction 7 of the M60, this scheme will provide potential occupiers with a highly-accessible trading location. It’s also positioned close to a wide range of local amenities and benefits from a popular and thriving business and retail community right on its doorstep.”
