Acrow unveils new £6M galvanizing facility

Posted on by in Weekly News

Rt Hon Matthew Hancock MP (pictured right), the Member of Parliament for West Suffolk and Paymaster General unveiled a special commemorative plaque at the official opening of Acrow Galvanizing’s new state-of-the-art plant in Haverhill, Suffolk.

Acrow Galvanizing [part of the Wedge Group] had previously been based in Saffron Walden in Essex since the 1970s. The company said the move to the upgraded facility is part of the Group’s continued commitment to enhancing its services.

As well as carrying out the official opening ceremony of the new plant, Matthew Hancock MP joined a number of guests on a guided tour of the facility led by Jeremy Woolridge, Executive Chairman of Wedge Group Galvanizing, Managing Director Chris Woolridge and General Manager Nick Hasler.

During the tour, he had the opportunity to see first-hand the galvanizing plant’s very latest technologies and sustainable practices, including integrated rainwater harvesting and storage systems, as well as hear from the Wedge team about the benefits the modern premises will bring to not only the plant’s employees, but to the wider local economy.

Jeremy Woolridge, Executive Chairman of Wedge Group Galvanizing (pictured left), commented: “We are delighted to be officially unveiling our brand new facility here at Haverhill, which is the culmination of years of planning and months of hard work in terms of the actual construction.

“Not only will the new plant enable the team at Acrow Galvanizing to deliver the very highest quality service to its customers across the region, but it will also see us as a Group best placed to continue our growth over the coming decades.”
