Academy strengthens stockholders commitment

Posted on by in Weekly News

Barrett150625Stockholder Barrett Steel has celebrated its faith in a bright future with the completion of its first Management and Leadership Academy.

The company says that over the past 12 months eleven of its creative managers have undertook an inspirational programme designed to open their minds to transformational leadership, while accrediting the work towards the Chartered Management Institute’s (CMI) Chartered Manager status.

Barrett Group HR Director Pauline Garnett, who developed the management and leadership programme, said: “It was devised to strengthen our succession planning and develop talent within the business for future generations.

“We have a long term leadership development commitment in the business and this programme is intrinsically linked to our overall business excellence model of continuous improvement.

The programme includes a wide range of core skills including finance and working capital; strategic planning; core values; improving efficiency; human factors; emotional intelligence; data management; recruitment and selection, and business excellence.

A second tranche of managers is developing its skills through the academy programme and Barrett Steel says it will assist members to continue academic studies with CMI to diploma level and beyond.
