Suffolk logistics park expands with innovation centre

Wilten Construction has been awarded the contract for a three-storey, BREEAM ‘Excellent’ Skills and Innovation Centre at Gateway 14.

Developed by Jaynic, Gateway 14 is located close to Stowmarket and will on completion be one of the largest logistics parks in East Anglia.

To be constructed over a 50-week programme, the Skills and Innovation Centre will have a strong emphasis on emerging industries connected to green and digital skills, and will support high growth start-ups, create jobs, and boost the local economy.

The centre will include flexible learning and teaching spaces, collaboration spaces, training and meeting rooms, and a café.

The scheme will also feature car parking spaces including EV charging provisions, motorcycle stands, bicycle stands, while Wilten’s work will also include landscaping, external works and services.

Naim Basha, Director and Co-Founder at Wilten Construction, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed for the second time by Gateway 14 and Jaynic for the design and build contract for the Skills and Innovation Centre at Gateway 14.

“Wilten will add great value to this scheme. We look forward to undertaking this prestigious project that will have a positive impact on both the local economy and the community.”
