September issue of New Steel Construction out now

The September issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both print and digital formats. Readers can access the magazine via the website: www.newsteelconstruction.com

This month’s cover story features a leisure centre in the Bedfordshire town of Leighton Buzzard. Set in a new housing development, the centre includes a 25m swimming pool, a learner pool, squash courts and a 150-station gym.

In the capital’s St James’s district, the 30 Duke Street commercial scheme has fully embraced the circular economy. Approximately 77% of the structural frame is made up of reclaimed steel, with more than half of this total coming from another one of developer GPE’s London projects.

Also in London, an eight-storey office block and a new headquarters for the City of London Police, which features a weathering steel exoskeleton, form part of the Salisbury Square development.

Structural steelwork is the preferred framing solution for the current work within Rotherham’s Town Centre Masterplan. A new open-plan market building, alongside a library, are both being built on top of an existing podium slab, which has been strengthened with steel plates.

The Workington Innovation Centre is set to provide a boost to IT and digital technology companies in Cumbria. The four-storey, steel-framed building features private and informal meeting rooms, conference spaces, and catering facilities.
