Robertson on call for Manchester fire station
Working on behalf of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), Robertson Construction has commenced work on the new Whitefield Community Fire Station.
The project forms part of GMFRS’s £38 million Estates Improvement Programme and has been designed to support the next generation of emergency response vehicles and equipment.
Aiming to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, the fire station will have a number of sustainable features including 47 solar panels on its roof.
Dave Russel, Chief Fire Officer, GMFRS, said: “The beginning of construction on our new-build community fire station is very exciting. It will provide a positive and engaging presence in the local community, while giving staff modern facilities.
“I am proud of all the work that has gone into our estates programme, building a portfolio that is fit for a modern Greater Manchester.”
The Whitefield Community Fire Station is due to be complete by October 2026.
