Rail service centre set to arrive at Goole

Posted on by in Weekly News

Main contractor Caddick is set to deliver a £20 million contract to build Siemens Mobility’s new Bogie Assembly and Service Centre in Goole.

Forming part of Siemens Mobility’s Goole Rail Village, the new 13,500m2 centre will increase capacity for the company’s bogie and wheelset overhaul work, securing existing jobs and creating new employment opportunities.

Steve Ford, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction North East & Yorkshire, commented: “Our region’s industrial sector is seeing some significant investment, which is really positive for our economy and job market.

“As a Yorkshire business, we’re very proud to be delivering these flagship schemes on behalf of global leaders in manufacturing and industry. As well as growing our own project portfolio, we are also fuelling a strong pipeline for our regional supply chain and sub-contractor partners, which in turn brings more training and employment opportunities for Yorkshire people.”

Sambit Banerjee, Joint CEO of Siemens Mobility UK & Ireland, commented: “The growth of our Goole Rail Village is an important part of Siemens Mobility’s mission to transform rail travel and transport in the UK, so it’s great to have Caddick contributing to that growth through the construction of our new Bogie Assembly and Service Centre.”

The project is due to be completed in Spring 2026.
