Plans in for Wrexham Gateway mixed-use scheme
Wrexham Council and Transport for Wales have submitted plans for a mixed-use regeneration scheme next to the city’s main railway station.
The Wrexham Gateway project would involve converting disused former industrial buildings into a museum and taproom, and a five-storey commercial office block.
Including wide-ranging landscaped areas, the scheme would sit alongside Wrexham football club’s new Kop stand development, which is due to kick-off imminently.
A project spokesperson said, “The scheme seeks to reconnect fragmented sites to create a distinctive and welcoming arrival experience for rail passengers.”
The overall plans also include new bus stops, electric vehicle charging points, cycle storage, and a new footbridge to connect to the railway station.
