Permission granted for Cardiff laboratory space

Plans to construct an office and laboratory building at a business park in Cardiff have been given the green light.

Pioneer Group has secured full planning permission to develop the project at the Cardiff Edge Business Park.

The development will comprise a two-storey office/lab building of approximately 5,000m² and an attached 900m² hub, within the existing science park.

The hub building is designed as a mixing area for the whole site, with the ground floor including a cafe/seating, gym and cycle provision and the first floor accommodating flexible work spaces. The building would be sited within a landscaped area with outside seating.

The 27-acre Cardiff Edge Business Park is located just off Junction 32 of the M4 motorway. It was acquired by WAPG and Harrison Street in April 2021 and currently comprises life sciences, R&D and office spaces.
