October issue of New Steel Construction out now
The October issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available. It is a digital-only issue and readers can access it via the website: www.newsteelconstruction.com
This month’s cover story is the Haverfordwest Public Transport Interchange, which includes a bus station and a multi-storey car park. Structural steelwork has provided an efficient and quick construction solution for the town centre project.
Also in Wales, NSC reports on a new school in Tonypandy, where the project team says steelwork offered the best solution to form the necessary internal column-free spans.
One of the largest ongoing construction projects in the West Country has benefited from steel construction’s many attributes. Due to be operational early next year, the Hallenbeagle Waste Management Facility will support Cornwall’s net zero carbon aspirations.
A steel-framed teaching block at Wigan & Leigh College has been erected quickly and efficiently due to early engagement between the main contractor and the steelwork fabricator.
Organisers of world-famous golf championships, The R&A, will soon relocate into a new global headquarters in St Andrews. The BREEAM “Excellent” four-storey building will accommodate basement car parking, a canteen, and three levels of meeting rooms and offices.
NSC also features industry news, a technical article, and an advisory desk note from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
