March issue of New Steel Construction out now

Posted on by in Weekly News

The March issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available. It is a digital-only issue and readers can access it via the website: www.newsteelconstruction.com

This month’s cover story features the latest commercial scheme to take shape in the City of London. On completion, 10 King William Street will provide nine-storeys of office space above a new entrance hall to Bank Underground Station.

In the South Wales town of Caerphilly, steel construction is aiding the development of a leisure centre. The scheme, which will include a six-lane swimming pool, sports hall and a fitness suite, is said to be a prime example of how steelwork can support ambitious architectural designs.

Steel’s ability to create flexible and clear span floorplates was paramount in the decision to use the material for the Gateway One scheme in Doncaster. The five-storey building will provide working space for local AI and IT businesses.

Complex curved steel sections have been used to fabricate the first bridge over the River Trent at Nottingham in more than 60 years. The 87m-long Network Arch footbridge is due to open this Spring.

A steel-framed market hall, featuring a distinctive saw-tooth roof design, forms the initial phase of Wigan’s wide-ranging town centre redevelopment.

NSC also features industry news, as well as a technical paper and advisory desk note from the Steel Construction Institute.
