The July/August issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC can find it at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

This month’s cover story is Paddington Square, a landmark 18-storey mixed-use development that includes a new London Underground ticket hall and entrance.

Sustainability is featured in this issue of NSC, with the second article of a two-part series answering frequently asked questions on sustainability for the steel construction sector.

A number of factors have contributed to recent construction material cost increases, but the steel construction sector shows little sign of slowing down as NSC reports on steel prices with a two-page analysis.

This year’s Structural Steel Design Awards shortlist has been announced and this issue of NSC features a pictorial-led showcase of all of 20 projects.

A steel-framed solution has ticked all the boxes for the design and construction of Dover Grammar School for Boys’ new premises, which are located on a prominent site overlooking the coastal town.

A steel-framed warehouse in Livingston, Scotland has been enlarged and refurbished with steel construction to create a new manufacturing plant for a packaging producer. Another industrial project is also reported on, as structural steelwork has formed a new cold store and purified water plant extension at GlaxoSmithKline’s Barnard Castle site.

In East Anglia, recreation for tourists and residents alike is set to get a significant boost as a new leisure and sport centre is being constructed in Great Yarmouth.

NSC also features a sector focus on structural components, industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
