Fastener manufacturer celebrates 40 years of innovation

Posted on by in News

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) Telford is celebrating 40 years of manufacturing its fastening systems, which are used across numerous industries including automotive, construction, rail and the renewable energy sector.

During that time, HFS Telford has evolved from a modest operation to a 100,000 square foot manufacturing centre, employing 130 staff who can produce up to 80 parts per minute.

HFS Telford Director of Operations Andy Smith, said: “We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved over the past 40 years. This site has a long legacy of innovation and precision manufacturing, and we’re committed to building on that strength in the years ahead.”

The Telford site is the primary European hub for manufacturing Huck Lockbolts and structural blind fasteners, which are said to have superior strength for fatigue resistance and reliability in high-vibration environments.

The company said it is preparing to launch new lines of Huck fastening products later this year. Jonathan Craven, Senior Director of Technology & Engineering at HFS Industrial, said: “These products are designed to address real-world challenges and help our customers achieve smarter, faster fastening.”
